Winter in the Pays d’Aurillac is a magical time of year, inviting you to discover and adventure through snow-covered landscapes. Whether you’re an avid skier, snowshoer or simply looking for a relaxing moment by the fire, our region offers a multitude of winter activities to suit all tastes.

Explore our snow-covered mountains, take advantage of natural areas for winter hiking, or let yourself be tempted by the pleasures of the snow in an unspoilt setting. The winter landscapes of the Pays d’Aurillac are a veritable playground for those who love winter in all its forms.

Legal collar

In the heart of the Monts du Cantal, the Col de Légal is an ideal starting point for hiking (GR4 and GR400) and Nordic activities. A ski area comprising 150 ha of forest and the Luc plateau dotted with burons, 8 cross-country ski trails (38 km) and 2 snowshoe trails will delight beginners and experienced skiers alike. Skis (classic, skating) and snowshoes for hire at the cross-country ski center.
Accommodation with 52 beds (17 rooms).

Pailherols

Located in the Monts du Cantal, on the south face of the Plomb du Cantal and 35 km from Aurillac, Pailherols is a stopover on the GR465 linking Murat to Conques, and a family resort offering a wide range of activities.
The resort offers 20 km of Nordic and snowshoe trails on 3 levels, as well as a toboggan run. Ski and snowshoe hire at the Flocons Verts cross-country ski center. Accommodation with a capacity of 29 beds.

Haut Cantal puy mary Nordic zone

The Zone Nordique du Haut Cantal Puy Mary offers a wide range of Nordic activities in the heart of the magnificent snow-covered landscapes of the Puy Mary Grand Site de France.
You can enjoy cross-country skiing (skating or alternating) and snowshoeing on the groomed, secure trails at the Col de Serre and Lascourt entrances to Le Claux, and at the Pont des Eaux entrance to Le Falgoux.
You can also discover dog sledding on the Domaine Nordique.

Le Lioran - prat de bouc

The Le Lioran – Prat de Bouc ski area extends over 150 ha for 60 km of skiing pleasure: 43 ski runs, 18 lifts… Ideal for downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tobogganing.
Equipment rental on site. Planned outings, biathlon, classic and skating cross-country skiing lessons, nordic fit, Nordic ski touring discovery session, yoga, kite workshop, kite piloting.
