The Aurillac en scène Festival was born in 2019. The festival aims to promote music and bring together artists from a variety of genres. The first edition was a success, attracting large numbers of festival-goers and showcasing local and national talent.
Since its inception, the festival has grown to become a key event in Aurillac’s cultural calendar, with a varied program and renowned headliners.
“Our ambition is to create a truly popular open-air event, with a program of national and international artists at affordable prices”, emphasizes Charly Delamaide, President of Aurillac Développement.
Objectives
– To offer a large-scale, recurring annual open-air music event that rivals the artistic programming of other French festivals and attracts several thousand people.
– Offer a place for local creation and the local scene (showcasing local artists)
– Encourage partnerships: a budget made up of our own revenues (private, sponsorship, ticketing, etc.) and public partnerships (subsidies from local authorities).
– Reinforce accessibility to cultural offerings: a pricing policy adapted to all.
– Generate economic spin-offs for the region (accommodation, hotels, catering, local technical services, etc.)
Spatial organization
An open-air festival on Place du 8 Mai 1945, organized around 2 areas:
1 / A mobile covered main stage called the “big stage” will be set up to the right of TECHNOPRISME, with a pit and a tiered seating area (facing the stage).
2 / At the rear of this area, a convivial “Catering – refreshment” village with food-trucks and a main bar.
Access: the festival reception and ticket office will be located near the main entrance. A dedicated PRM/PIP/Press entrance will be located on the Rue Jean Moulin side. The entire site will be closed to traffic, with temporary detour and traffic bans.
Festival capacity: the objective is to welcome 8,000 festival-goers over 2 days (4,000 people per day). The daily capacity will be 1050 seated (+20 PRM) and 3000 in the pit (standing). However, should the need arise, the site could accommodate more festival-goers and open up the pit capacity (standing room only).
Scenography – Festival identity:
We’re working on creating a Festival identity with a more polished aesthetic, distinct signage, and identified areas with specific facilities (relaxation, selfie wall) to facilitate conviviality and comfort for festival-goers.
