 Swimming and Safety

Water quality at the Puech des Ouilhes beach is regularly monitored to ensure safe and enjoyable bathing. During the summer season, lifeguards supervise the beach to ensure the safety of all bathers. So you can cool off in complete peace of mind.

Catering and accommodation

And when it comes to conviviality, head for the Nautilus! The menu includes ice creams, drinks and full-service catering. On Friday evenings, it’s mussels and French fries, and enjoy themed evenings during the week, especially on Thursdays!

The Presqu’île campsite offers 76 pitches in July/August and 20 rentals from May to September, as well as a tennis court for FFT licensees.

Fishing

The Lac du barrage is co-managed by the AAPPMAs of Aurillac, Laroquebrou and Maurs. There are unmarked areas for night carp fishing: see departmental regulations. Carp and carnivore fishing.

Hiking and discovery

The area around the beach is ideal for hiking, with several signposted trails winding through picturesque countryside. Whether you’re a seasoned walker or an occasional stroller, you’ll find routes to suit your level. These trails offer a unique opportunity to discover the local flora and fauna while enjoying breathtaking views of the lake.

The footpath on stilts is an ideal place to walk above ground, offering a breathtaking view of the local flora and fauna. As night falls, the trail is transformed into a veritable light show. Illuminated animations enchant your walk, creating a magical atmosphere.

Practical information
  • Accessibility

    Easily accessible by car, the beach has nearby parking facilities. Special facilities are also in place to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility. To make it easier for locals and holidaymakers to get around and visit tourist attractions, Stabus operates two summer routes every year.

  • Tourist reception

    From July 6 to August 31, the Pays d’Aurillac Tourist Office will be opening a tourist information point at the Puech des Ouilhes: Thursday to Monday, 2pm to 7pm (8pm on Thursdays).

  • Country market

    In July and August, on Thursday evenings on the Puech des Ouilhes beach, a dozen local producers welcome you from 6pm to 10pm.
