A welcome for all, an experience for everyone Accessibility, Tourism and Disability

Towards more inclusive tourism

Accessibility for all

Universal accessibility is a crucial issue in making travel and tourism experiences possible for everyone, whatever their physical, sensory, mental or cognitive abilities.

To meet this need, a number of initiatives have been launched, including the “Tourisme et Handicap” label, which plays a key role in recognizing and promoting inclusive practices in the tourism industry.

 The label

The “Tourisme & Handicap” label recognizes tourist structures (accommodation, cultural sites, restaurants, leisure facilities, etc.) that offer facilities and services meeting the specific needs of people with disabilities.

It covers four types of disability:

Motor disabilities

People in wheelchairs or with mobility difficulties

Visual disability

Blind and partially sighted people

Hearing impairment

People who are deaf or hard of hearing

Mental disability
